In an exciting development for coffee enthusiasts and industry stakeholders alike, AFPAK’s H2 Dolce Gusto capsule filling machine production line has officially been inaugurated in Barcelona, Spain.
This new facility marks a significant milestone for the brand, known for its innovative coffee solutions catering to diverse tastes and preferences.
Background on Dolce Gusto
Dolce Gusto, a brand under the Nestlé umbrella, has revolutionized the way consumers enjoy coffee at home.
Launched in 2006, the brand quickly gained popularity due to its unique capsule system, which allows users to brew a variety of beverages—from rich espressos to creamy lattes—simply by inserting a capsule into a machine.
The convenience and quality of Dolce Gusto products have made them a staple in many households around the world.
Details of the Barcelona H2 Dolce Gusto Capsule Filling Machine Production Line
The new production line in Barcelona is strategically located to leverage the region’s robust infrastructure and skilled workforce.
This state-of-the-art facility features a machine that was custom-made by our team, ensuring that it meets the specific needs of the production process.
Upon its arrival at the factory, the machine was commissioned by our experts, who ensured everything was set up for optimal performance to match the customized packaging materials and specific needs at the customer’s site.
This advanced machine can be operated in two modes: manual mode, where each function can be controlled individually, and automatic mode, which allows for functional combinations to streamline the production process.
Additionally, the user interface is available in both Spanish and English making it easy accessible for local operators.
One other notable point is that, this machine is available not only for ground coffee capsules, but also soluble products and some other instant powder products like milk, coco and chocolate powder.
The individually different filling weight and sealing parameters can be easily modified in the touch screen.
The facility also incorporates advanced technology designed to enhance production efficiency and maintain the highest quality standards.
With an impressive production capacity (up to 80 pods/min), the line is set to meet the growing demand for Dolce Gusto capsules across Europe and beyond.
Training and Support
As part of the launch, we provided comprehensive training for the local team.
This included instructions on daily operations, maintenance procedures, common alarms and common troubleshooting techniques.
Daily operations include check points before machine run, materials preparations, filling weight setting, hopper clearance, filling materials exchanging and so on.
Maintenance procedures include monthly lubrication points, daily clearance points, monthly tightening points and new parts exchanging points.
Common alarms or troubleshooting techniques include “foreign objects detected: when empty capsules are not properly loaded to the machine”, “filling servo motor error: the servo motor for powder filling stopped abnormally”, “machine stopped for lack of capsule: when the shortage of empty capsule is detected”, “machine stopped for lack of powder: when the shortage of powder inside the hopper is detected” and “film broken detected: when the inner or outer film is broken and can’t be pulled again”.
Our goal is to ensure that the factory staff is fully equipped to operate this machine efficiently and address any issues that may arise, thus maintaining a seamless production flow.
We provide two years warranty and lifetime after-sale services including online video call support in 8 hours.

Existing Production Lines
In addition to the new Dolce Gusto line, the factory already hosts several other types of capsule production lines, including those for plastic Nespresso, environmentally friendly compostable Nespresso, and striped instant coffee.
Each of these production line is running stably, with one single operator for each machine, but the output is amazing.
This factory not only provide bulk packaged capsules, boxed and palletized capsules for wholesale purpose, but also provide private label OEM service.
This existing infrastructure not only enhances the factory’s operational capabilities but also positions it as a versatile hub for coffee capsule production.
Once this line is up and running daily, some more business expansion (the production of some other types of capsules) should be on the agenda.
Significance of the New Line
The establishment of the Barcelona production line carries significant implications for the local economy.
It is expected to create several jobs, providing employment opportunities for skilled workers in the area.
This influx of jobs will not only support families but also stimulate local businesses, contributing to the overall economic health of the region.
Moreover, the new facility emphasizes sustainability, a core value for Dolce Gusto.
The production line incorporates eco-friendly practices, including energy-efficient machinery and waste reduction initiatives.
This commitment to environmental stewardship reflects the brand’s dedication to creating a positive impact on the planet.
Consumer Benefits
For consumers, the opening of the Barcelona production line means greater accessibility to a wide range of Dolce Gusto products.
With increased production capabilities, the brand can introduce new flavors and limited-edition capsules, enhancing the coffee experience for its loyal customers.
Whether you prefer a bold espresso or a refreshing iced coffee, the expanded offerings will cater to all preferences.
Additionally, the local production of capsules reduces transportation costs and carbon emissions, aligning with the growing consumer demand for sustainable products.
As a result, coffee lovers can enjoy their favorite beverages with the added satisfaction of supporting environmentally responsible practices.
