The Grand Unveiling of Dolce Gusto and Nespresso Filling machines: A Comprehensive Analysis of the Differences.

Hello, everyone. I’m Jeffree from AFPAK. Today, I’d like to introduce you to the differences

Hello, everyone. I’m Jeffree from AFPAK. Today, I’d like to introduce you to the differences between Dolce Gusto and Nespresso devices.

Many people have been asking why the price of Dolce Gusto filling sealing machine is much higher than that of Nespresso filling sealing machine.

Now, I’ll answer these questions one by one for you.

Before getting to know the two coffee capsule filling sealing machines, let’s take a look at the characteristics of the two types of capsules first:

  1. Both types of capsules are brands and products launched by Nestlé.
  2. The main differences between Dolce Gusto and Nespresso lie in coffee flavors, machine functions, and user experiences. Firstly, in terms of coffee flavors, the capsule coffee of Dolce Gusto mainly features creamy coffee and flavored coffee, which is suitable for users who prefer fancy coffee. While the capsule coffee of Nespresso is more inclined to have a rich black coffee flavor, suitable for users who like pure coffee. In terms of machine functions, the pressure of Nespresso coffee machines can reach 19 bar, while that of Dolce Gusto coffee machines is 15 bar. Nespresso models usually don’t come equipped with a milk frothing function, whereas Dolce Gusto models integrate this function, making it more convenient to make fancy coffee.
  3. Dolce Gusto can usually be filled with 79 grams of coffee powder and as much as 20 grams of instant powder, while Nespresso can be filled with 56 grams of coffee powder.
  4. In terms of capsule structure, after filling coffee powder, Dolce Gusto will first seal a perforated film inside and then seal the top sealing film. Usually, both of these films can only be in the form of roll films. As for Nespresso, after filling the coffee, it only needs to directly seal the top sealing film, and this sealing film can be in the form of both sheet film and roll film.
The above are the main differences and characteristics of the two types of capsules.

After understanding the characteristics of our capsules, let’s now look at the differences between the two types of devices.

Regardless of the production capacity of the devices, their functions are quite similar.

So today, I’ll introduce them to you with reference to our best-selling model, the RN1S filling and sealing machine:

Firstly, the functions of the Dolce Gusto filling equipment are as follows:

  1. Cup arranging (Empty capsule cups are usually shipped in bulk packaging, so a cup arranging structure is needed).
  2. Non-cup non-filling detection function. When no cup is detected at this workstation, the machine will not fill or seal on this mold.
  3. Servo filling function.
  4. Cleaning the sealing surface of the cups, which can suck away the coffee powder residue on the sealing surface of the cups.
  5. Sealing the water-permeable membrane.
  6. Sealing the top membrane.
  7. Secondary top membrane sealing.
  8. Cup discharging.

Secondly, the functions of the Nespresso filling machine are as follows:

  1. Vertical cup dropping (suitable for stackable cups) or automatic cup arranging (suitable for cups that are not convenient to stack and are shipped in bulk packaging, requiring a cup arranging structure).
  2. Non-cup non-filling detection function. When no cup is detected at this workstation, the machine will not fill or seal on this mold.
  3. Servo filling function.
  4. Cleaning the sealing surface of the cups, which can suck away the coffee powder residue on the sealing surface of the cups.
  5. Sealing the perforated film.
  6. Secondary top membrane sealing.
  7. Cup discharging.

After learning about the functions of the above two dolce gusto and Nespresso filling sealing machines, we can see the obvious differences between them:

  1. Cup arranging function: It is advisable for Dolce Gusto to have this function as it facilitates the loading of cups, while Nespresso can use the vertical cup dropping method.
  2. Inner perforated sealing function: Dolce Gusto must seal a water-permeable membrane, whereas Nespresso does not require this function.
  3. Differences in filling weight: Dolce gusto capsules can fill 7-20 grams powders inside, while Nespresso capsule fill 5-6 grams powders.

Through the above video, we hope that you can have a better understanding of these two types of capsules. If you have any questions or suggestions about this video, you are welcome to leave a message or contact us. See you soon
