A Complete Drip Coffee Bag Packaging Line
The XKL18010 is built for coffee roasters, private-label producers and contract packers who want to move from ground coffee to boxed retail products in one connected process.
Upstream, XKL180 machines make the individually wrapped drip coffee bags. Downstream, the B10 cartoner receives the bags, arranges and groups them, loads them into cartons and closes the cartons automatically.
From Bag Production to Automatic Cartoning
The AFPAK XKL18010 combines XKL180 drip coffee bag packing machines with a B10 automatic cartoner. Pack 5–10 individually wrapped bags per carton, connect 3–4 packing machines to one cartoner and target 10–20 cartons per minute.

XKL180 Drip Coffee Bag Packing Machine
40–45 bags/min per machine, depending on bag material, dose and format

Receive, Rotate and Group
The B10 receives the bags, rotates them so they lie evenly and groups the selected 5–10 bags for each carton.

Carton Magazine
A large-capacity magazine holds pre-glued side-seam cartons that are open at both ends.

Open and Load the Carton
Suction cups pick up one carton at a time and open it, and the grouped bags are pushed into the open carton.

Tuck-In or Hot-Melt Glue Closing
Both carton ends are closed by the machine using tuck-in or hot-melt glue closing, depending on your carton design.

Your Coffee Bags, Packed for Retail
The individually wrapped bags lie in the same direction inside the carton, so the finished pack looks consistent when the customer opens it.
How the Complete Line Works
Form, fill and pack the drip bag
The XKL180 forms the inner filter bag, doses the coffee, places the inner bag into the outer bag, then cuts and discharges each finished bag.
Lift and convey
Finished bags are lifted and conveyed from the XKL180 machines to the B10 cartoner.
Receive, rotate and group
The B10 receives the bags, rotates them so they lie evenly and groups the selected 5–10 bags for each carton.
Open and load the carton
Pre-glued cartons are stored in a magazine. Suction cups pick up one carton at a time and open it, and the grouped bags are pushed into the open carton.
Close and discharge
Both carton ends are closed by the machine using tuck-in or hot-melt glue closing, depending on your carton design. Finished packs are then discharged.
Bag format, carton design and requested bag count are reviewed together before the line is configured.
Your Coffee Bags, Packed for Retail
Configure the line for cartons containing 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 drip coffee bags. The individually wrapped bags lie in the same direction inside the carton, so the finished pack looks consistent when the customer opens it.
Bag dimensions, filled thickness and carton dimensions are reviewed together to confirm the arrangement and loading fit. Different bag counts may require format adjustments or change parts.

One B10 Cartoner for 3–4 XKL180 Machines
The number of XKL180 machines depends on how many bags each carton holds and how many cartons per minute you need. Each XKL180 supplies 40–45 bags per minute, so a larger carton count needs more bag supply for the same carton speed.
| Bags per carton | 3 × XKL180 (cartons/min) | 4 × XKL180 (cartons/min) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | ≥ 20 | ≥ 20 |
| 6 | ≥ 20 | ≥ 20 |
| 7 | 17–19 | ≥ 20 |
| 8 | 15–17 | ≥ 20 |
| 9 | 13–15 | 18–20 |
| 10 | 12–13 | 16–18 |
“≥ 20” means the bag supply meets the 20 cartons/min target and the cartoning stage sets the speed. Values are theoretical, based on 40–45 bags/min per XKL180, and exclude stoppages, rejected packs and replenishment time. Final sustained output is confirmed through line testing with your bags and cartons.
AFPAK reviews the combined bag output, bags per carton and available factory space to define the conveyor arrangement and machine interfaces in the proposal.

Daily Operation and Format Changes
The line is planned for 1–2 operators who supervise production and replenish coffee, filter material, outer film and cartons.
When you switch between bag counts or carton formats, the guiding components and carton settings may need adjustment. AFPAK defines the required adjustments and change parts around your requested range of formats.
Test Your Bags and Cartons
Before the final configuration is approved, send your coffee specification, inner and outer bag materials, finished bag samples, sample cartons or drawings, requested bag counts and output target.
Sample testing confirms:
- Bag transfer, rotation and arrangement
- Counting and group formation
- Carton opening and loading fit
- Carton closing and finished-pack appearance
- Achievable output for the selected configuration
Why Work with AFPAK?
AFPAK has specialized in coffee packaging machinery since 2010. For the XKL18010, we look at the whole route from coffee to finished retail carton, not each machine in isolation.
Upstream output, bag format, carton design, factory layout and operator requirements are reviewed together. The result is a defined equipment scope and a production target that can be checked during acceptance testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the XKL18010 include the front-end drip coffee bag packing machines?
Yes. The line includes XKL180 drip coffee bag packing machines, conveying and lifting of finished bags, bag rotation and grouping, and the B10 automatic cartoner. The proposal lists the exact equipment supplied.
How many bags can be packed into each carton?
The line supports 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 bags per carton. The carton and loading setup are matched to your bag dimensions and requested count.
How many XKL180 machines can connect to one cartoner?
Three to four XKL180 machines connect to one B10 cartoner. The number depends on bags per carton and your target speed. For example, 5–6 bags per carton can reach the 20 cartons/min target with three machines, while 10 bags per carton at four machines reaches about 16–18 cartons/min.
What is the production speed?
Each XKL180 runs at 40–45 bags per minute. The target cartoning speed is 10–20 cartons per minute, and sustained output depends on bag supply, bags per carton, materials and line configuration.
How many operators are needed?
The planned staffing is 1–2 operators for line supervision and material replenishment. Responsibilities are confirmed with your layout and operating plan.
Are the bags arranged neatly inside the carton?
Yes. The B10 rotates and groups the individually wrapped bags so they lie in the same direction inside the carton. Bag thickness and carton fit are checked with samples.
Is carton opening, loading and closing automatic?
Yes. The B10 picks a pre-glued carton from the magazine with suction cups, opens it, pushes the grouped bags inside and closes both ends with tuck-in or hot-melt glue closing, depending on your carton design.
What carton type does the B10 use?
Pre-glued side-seam cartons that are open at both ends. Please send sample cartons or drawings so AFPAK can match the setup to your design.
Does the line include nitrogen flushing?
Yes, nitrogen flushing is standard. The nitrogen source is supplied by the customer.
What bag materials and sizes can the XKL180 run?
The inner bag can be non-woven, PLA or filter paper. The standard outer bag size is 100 × 125 mm, and other sizes can be customized. The coffee dose range is 7–14 g.
Can I change between five-bag and ten-bag cartons?
The line is configurable for 5–10 bags per carton. The adjustments and change parts needed depend on your bag and carton dimensions and are confirmed for each requested format.
What should I send for a quotation?
Send your bag and carton dimensions, samples or drawings, coffee dose, required bags per carton, target output, factory layout and destination electrical requirements.
