Llenado de copa K & Sealing Machines — 40 to 600 Cups Per Minute

Why Coffee Brands Switch to Automated K-Cup Filling
- 1) Dosing variability. Scooping ground coffee one-by-one into K-Cup capsules results in a 1-2g variable per cup. They notice, you notice.
- 2) Oxidation. Every second a filled capsule sits open at your shop, oxygen destroys delicate aromas. Manual sealing presses do not operate fast enough to keep residual O below 1%.
- 3) cost of labor and throughput. Two to three people working a full shift on a manual filling line produce 2,400-4,800 cups. One operator on an automated fill and seal machine produces anywhere from 19,200 to 288,000 cups in the same full shift.

All AFPAK K-Cup filling machines use servo-driven auger fillers controlled via a PLC. This servo enhances dose accuracy at 0.1g every where in the production cycle even when the powder density fluctuates during the fill cycle; this can be an issue with oily dark roasts that are more dense than lighter grounds. For oily dark roasts, the RN1S should be run at 30-35 CPM.
Some of the main electrical parts are Schneider PLC, oilod sensors and Airtac pneumatics. We use these globally known brands because replacement parts can be found through a local dealer in most cities of US, avoiding the typical 4-6 weeks delay seen on machines built with proprietary parts.
Stainless steel contact surfaces comply with FDA food grade standard. All filling chambers, auger assemblies and sealing stations are front loading, so the operators can easily dismantle them for thorough cleaning and sanitation between product changes without need for a technician.
Most operators learn to master the RN1S during a 60-minute training class. It takes about a-half day for the HB410 and H-Series to be introduced to the operators, and a two-day production run under supervision. We offer on-site training with every installation.
Another aspect that is more critical than most customers realize: component sourcing. A machine designed with proprietary PLC’s and custom pneumatic fittings locks you in to one supplier to purchase every spare part forever. We’ve chosen deliberately to spec Schneider PLCs, Omron sensors and Airtac pneumatics, because your maintenance technicians can find replacements anywhere in most US metropolitan areas. That choice saved weeks of production downtime when a sensor went out during a late-December rush.
All product-contact surfaces are made of 300-series food grade stainless steel complying with requirements of FDA 21 CFR Part 110. All product-contact surfaces including filling chamber, auger assembly, nitrogen manifold and sealing station are easily accessible to disassemble even without tools for thorough clean between various product changeovers-a must-have for plant handling both flavored and unflavored coffee on the same line. K-Cup Filling Machine vs Manual Sealing — Performance Comparison
No matter what type of processing system you use, nothing makes a decision-maker (whether it’s a supervisor, plant manager, or a vice president) conclude that a fully automated system is more quickly than having the numbers to back it up. This is what you gain:
| Métrico | Manual Process | AFPAK Automated |
|---|---|---|
| Velocidad | 5–10 cups/min | 40–600 cups/min |
| Precisión de llenado | ±1–2g | ±0,1g |
| Residual O₂ | 3–5% | <1% |
| Labor Required | 2-3 operadores | 1 operador |
| Cup-to-Cup Consistency | Variable | 99%+ uniformity |
| Tiempo de cambio | 2–4 hours | 30 minutes |
| Daily Output (8-hr shift) | 2,400–4,800 cups | 19,200–288,000 cups |
| Sealing Temperature Control | Manual heat gun or press | PLC-controlled, 0–400°C adaptive |

Customer Results — How Brands Scale with AFPAK Machines
Our machines operate in four production environments, each with differing capacities of k-cup production equipment demands:
Small & Specialty Roasters
Artisan roasters often introduce single-serve coffee production with our RN1S as they are concerned not only with volume, but also maintaining specific flavor profiles for months in storage. A specialty roaster cannot risk going 2g over or under on a batch of Ethiopia Yirgacheffe when their clients pay $18 retail for that box. The RN1S is accurate to ±0,1g in dosing and nitrogen flush within a machine occupying 2×2 meters of space.
We have seen specialty roasters start out producing 20,000 cups per month on the RN1S and grow into the HB410 within 18 months once their retail sales channels scale. That is a trajectory designed into our series-the capsule tooling and filter specs transfer directly from one model to another, so your recipes and quality requirements transfer seamlessly.

Private Label & Contract Packaging
Private-label OEMs need multi-SKU versatility. They might run a medium-roast K-Cup for one client in the morning, switch to a dark-roast Nespresso capsule after lunch, and end the shift with a cocoa pod for a seasonal line in the evening. The 30-minute production line set-up on our machines makes that schedule realistic. Manual change-overs that require 2-4 hours kill the economics of short run contract work.

Co-Packers & Industrial Scale
Co-packing operators operating AFPAK H-Series lines are often producing multiple coffee brands with parallel lines-we program the full powder-to-pallet production run-sealing, filling, cartoning, boxing, and palletizing-every manual touch point where contamination or labelling mistakes happen out of the equation. One co-packing operation has reported dropping their per-cup handling expenses after swapping a patchwork of standalone machines for a full AFPAK H-Series system.

Tea, Cocoa & Specialty Beverages
Our core market is coffee capsules, but our technology also enables hot tea, hot cocoa, chai, and matcha capsules. The servo-driven auger system manages both fine powders and leaf-tea mixes equally-wait time adjusting powder feed rate and dosing weight via the PLC touchscreen and not swapping out mechanical bits. Coffee brands moving into adjacent premium hot beverage categories can use existing AFPAK machines in their portfolio with no further CAPEX.

Capsule Compatibility & Material Options
Your machine investment should not restrict you to a single capsule configuration. All AFPAK coffee capsule filling machines accommodate multiple capsule types, materials, and lid formats by changing tooling.
Supported Capsule Formats
A single AFPAK machine produces four major single-serve formats:
- K-taz regular, similar and keurig 2.0 compatible: 30 minute changeover.
- Nespresso Original format capsules: 30 minute changeover from K-Cup tooling.
- Sabor dulce larger capsule size: 1-2 hours due to size difference.
- Lavazza blueno and A Modo Mio: 1-2 hours.
Changeover involves swapping the nest plates for the specific capsule type, minutely moving guide rails and changing the fill weight target on the PLC cabinet. No welding, no machining and no outside technicians are necessary.
Capsule Materials
Full spectrum capsule filling and sealing:
- Standard PP#5 (Polypropylene) industry standard, recyclable if suitable infrastructure exists. Widest sealing window.
- Aluminio Premium oxygen barrier. Preferred by brands that enter the Nespresso-compatible market. Needs a specified sealing film match.
- PLA (PolyLactic Acid) Compostable, plant-based. Needs a lower sealing temperature compared to PP (normally 20-40 °C lower).
- Corn Starch & A base de caña de azúcar New biodegradable options. Sealing parameters vary per supplier, so sample runs are required.
Sealing Parameters
The sealing station runs a broad range of parameters: 0-400 °C and 0-0.8 MPa with on-the-fly heat control. The PLC records parameter setpoints for each capsule-material combination so a 1000-cup transition from PP K-Cups to PLA Nespresso capsules takes only a few taps on the touchscreen after the transition is physically made.
Adaptive heat control needs an explanation. The contact surface of the sealing head detects incoming power rate/temperature and modulates heater current within each cycle. During a long run, ambient plant temperature rises, which would cause a fixed-temperature system to naturally over-seal, worse over time. Our adaptive system maintains sealing equivalence throughout the production run.
Filter, Lid & Opciones de embalaje
Filtrar & Lid Options: Both paper & fabric filters can be used on our machines. Typically K-Cup also use paper filters to separate the ground coffee from the puncture needle tip, although some Nespresso-compatible capsules are fabric mesh. Lid film options include standard foil, printed foil, or Keurig 2.0 compatible lids with the mark location.
Custom Printing & Packaging: Lid printing from a $100 per color plate enables private label customers to quickly achieve unique branding even on short runs. Card cartoning adds a 3,000 unit MOQ, which supports most early store test marketing.
Procurement Guide — Pricing, Lead Time & Soporte posventa
Budgets and RFQ information for the following should be hard numbers. Here is our guide line for pricing, delivery, and support on a k-cup packing machine purchase.

Pricing Ranges
K-Cup filling machine prices can be quite variable based on automation and throughput:
- Semi-automatic / manual sealers: $1,000 range. For sampling, research & development, and micro-batch production run sizes less than 5,000 cups/month.
- Entry-level rotary (RN1S): mid level affordability. The best choice for upstart brands running 20,000-100,000 cups/month who want fully automatic operation.
- Midrange automated (HB410): higher affordability category. This model is optimized for co-packers and mid-sized CPG brands roasting 100,000-500,000+ cups/month and includes integrated cartoning.
- Complete production lines (H-Series): up to $500,000. Targeted to contract packer and large CPG companies with 1 million plus cups per month demand.
Prices are always specific configurations-of capsule size, production speed, downstream aggregation, nitrogen capability, etc. We do not sell “off-the-shelf” machinery.

Lead Times & Entrega
Manufacturing and delivery timelines vary by machine complexity:
- Semi-automatic units: within 1 week after quote acceptance. Stock and tested.
- Fully automatic machines (RN1S, HB410): 2-8 weeks to manufacture, assemble, and run 10,000+ QA cycles.
- Within 8-10 weeks for US door-to-door delivery: ocean shipping, customs clearance, and import duty processing.
We manage entire logistics chain. Your machine gets delivered to your shop door, not the port terminal where you are responsible for schlepping it down the dock to wherever you need it. We arrange customs broker and have import duty classification placed into the proper HTS for filling machinery for our US customers. This prevents the time-consuming reclassification which can add 2-3 weeks to your delivery when paperwork is mis-filed.

Garantía & Soporte posventa
- Mechanical warranty: 2-year warranty on everything mechanical, the gears, frames, structural assemblies.
- Electrical warranty: 1-year warranty on PLCs, sensors, servos, wiring harnesses.
- Post-warranty parts: We keep a parts inventory for every single machine model. Parts are sold at cost, indefinitely.
- US onsite service: Our technicians have 10-year visas for the US and 5-year visas for Canada. When remote troubleshooting efforts are exhausted we send an onsite technician not an outside service contractor.
- Customer support, anytime: Video-by-video diagnostics, PLC remote connection (your permission required), next day parts shipping.

Pre-Delivery Quality Assurance
Every machine is tested through a performance run of 10,000+ production cycles at our shop. During this time we record accuracy of fill weight, seal integrity, nitrogen displacement across the entire run. You get this QA report as documentation for your machine before you run production on it.

Producción & Delivery Lead Times
Lead time depends on which machine. Semi automatic sealers will ship in 1 week. Fully automatic machines (RN1S, HB410, H-Series) take 2 8 weeks to produce and ship from the OEM against your purchase order and your balance prepayment. Transit times to door (air sea freight) can take between 8 10 weeks to arrive at your facility in California, Texas, New York, Montreal or Toronto, including customs clearance, but we provide a gate ready machine at the dock no matter which port it was shipped into.
Our servo-driven auger fillers complete an accuracy test to 0.2 g-by default. To improve accuracy to 0.1g, we recommend keeping hopper capacity at a comfortable 60-70% during production. At this fill level the powder column reliably applies steady compaction to the auger and flood filling variation is minimized. The automatic PLC ensures the auger is constantly on-calibrating for density change during the run, avoiding dose-to-dose standard deviation. Very fine Powder density variation occurs as humidity (as well as temperature) increases during the day.1 gram dose.
Capsule filling machines for sale from our current product line are, from least to most automated, in the $1,000 semi-automatic sealer, $500,000 semi-automatic capsule filler, and H-series fully integrated production line. Cost varies depending on desired throughput, capsule format flexibility, and degree of downstream automation (cartoning, boxing, palletizing). H-Series fully integrated systems with minimal throughput typically start at 0.10 million. Kick off with a quote request- we custom design each order to match your facility, throughput, and capsule format.
Yes, we fill and seal PLA, corn based cellulosic, and sugarcane derived biodegradable capsules. Adjusting the sealing temperature, as well as dwell time, is the best way to ensure reliable, airtight seals when working with biodegradable capsule material. Our sealing station can go from 0-400C with a 0-0.8 MPa ( Pressure control and adjusting this from batch to batch is easiest if you do it during the refrigeration cycle. Get a sample from your supplier and do a test run before you set your overall machine parameters.
Our 8+ forward facing machines have dedicated nitrogen into 8+ stations around the capsule filling machine area. Nitrogen displaces oxygen in the capsule headspace prior to heat sealing the lid to the capsule body, leaving less than 1% residual O. Manual batch fillers can have 3 5% residual oxygen present, which causes volatile aromatic compounds in ground coffee to oxidize, resulting in faster staling of coffee. With below 1% residual oxygen, the flavor profile of sealed coffee capsules remains stable for 12+ months shelf life a critical requirement of modern retail grocery and on-line e-commerce channels.
The RN1S rotary is our simplest fully automatic K-Cup filling machine, intended for startup roasters getting into single-serve coffee pod manufacturing. When equipped with our market leading capsule vacuum and inerting technology, it produces 50 70 cups/min, fits into a 2x2m footprint, runs on single phase 220V at 2.5kW, and consumes 5 Nm/hr of nitrogen. Our hands-on operators can reach online throughput production during only 60 minutes of tool in.
One AFPAK can changeover between K-Cup, Nespresso, D-Gusto and Lavazza capsule format. Tool in changeover is about 30 minutes for K-Cup to Nespresso 1 hour. You change the nest and guide plates, then change the fill weight setting on the PIUS3000H T that is stored in the PLC Parameter set and is easy to call up by name.
All AFPAK machine configurations can be stored in the PLC control to minimize repeat format changing times. Format changing, when the PLC does not already have the parameters preset saved, can be up to 2 hours, depending upon the changeover of capsule body size, then accessory changeover time.
If the AFPAK machine is supported by our authorized technical support team via internet link, then otherwise unknown malfunctions are solved via several hours long online support. If necessary, an AFPAK service technician can be dispatched to your location, the technician holding a valid 10 year US Visa, 5 year Canada Visa, so permanent scheduling and transportation delays are avoided. Our warranty includes 2 years manufacturing mechanics parts replacement, and 1 year electrical part replacement including PLC system if applicable. After warranty, parts will always be available at a reasonable cost, required service time.
